What to look for in an installer

How to verify you're getting real brand-name film — not cheap imports labeled as ceramic.

1

Ask for the exact product name

Ask for the specific brand and product (e.g. "Llumar CTX 35") before you agree to installation.

2

Verify the product exists

Look up the product on the manufacturer's website. If it's not listed there, walk away.

3

Check certification

XPEL, Llumar, and 3M all have certified installer programs. Ask if the shop is certified by the brand.

4

See the packaging

Ask to see the film packaging before installation. Legitimate shops will show you without hesitation.

5

Request the manufacturer warranty

After installation, ask for the manufacturer warranty card — not just the shop's warranty.

6

Beware of low prices

Full-car ceramic tint under $150 is almost certainly not real ceramic film. Film cost alone exceeds that.
